When the sun's out and the snow's good, skiing in Scotland is a magnificent experience in beautiful surroundings
Ski & Board Magazine
Skiing
has been an established winter sport in Scotland for many
years now. Just picture it, standing atop snow-clad mountains,
white powder in every direction, not a cloud in the crystal
blue sky... OK so this might not be everyone's idea of a winter
season in Scotland and certainly there are days with more
testing weather extremes! However when the conditions are
right, Scotland 's ski season, December to April, is simply
fantastic - so make sure you experience it for yourself!
Nevis Range offers great terrain for skiers of all abilities, beginners make use of the variety of green runs literally a step off the gondola, whilst intermediates are spoilt for choice with over 25 groomed blue and red runs. Experts are presented with the challenges of the 'Back Corrie', an off piste expanse with cornices, drop-offs and ridges to explore, this is by common consent the best off-piste in the country.
Several all-inclusive packages are available, for the complete beginner to those of you who just want to improve your technique!! We strive to keep up with the ever-changing technology by continually updating and expanding the range of ski equipment available for hire.
Boardwise Terrain Park
Freestylers should look out for the terrain park, with rails and jumps under continuous construction at sites with the best snow build up. Test your skills on straight rails, kinked rail, rainbow rail, a forthcoming s-rail, grind boxes and benches, along with various sized kickers, designed by snowboarders for snowboarders!!
Even when the conditions are not ideal there is still some great action to be had on the summit terrain park, which continues to hold sufficient snow when the rest of the hill is somewhat lacking!! The terrain park is open to everyone of all levels of ability. why not give it a go!!
Also don't miss out on the various competitions that are held throughout the winter season, the perfect opportunity for you to show how it's done!! For details of the events planned check out the events calendar.
