The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup and BUFF® 4X Pro Tour, gets underway in Fort William tomorrow (Saturday 6 June) and organisers are advising spectators to dress for the conditions, with adverse weather expected.
Strong winds and heavy rain is forecast, so fans are advised to wear appropriate clothing and footwear to deal with the changeable outdoor conditions.
Mike Jardine, from event organisers Rare Management, said: “As with all major outdoor events we have no control over the weather and must adapt accordingly. With that in mind, we are asking people travelling to Fort William to take care on their journeys and to bring clothing appropriate to the conditions.
“Some changes to the programme may be required to deal with the conditions. We appreciate the understanding of spectators and hope they enjoy their day at the World Cup.”
Danny MacAskill has already arrived and is setting up his Drop and Roll Tour, and the exciting BUFF® 4X Pro Tour is sure to provide the crowd enough thrills and spills to offer some distraction from the Scottish weather.
Updates on the day’s schedule will be communicated on-site and fans can also keep up-to-date with information through the Fort William Mountain Bike World Cup Twitter feed (@FW_MTB_WorldCup) and Facebook page.
