Winter Preparation Engineering Update

Posted by nikki@nevisrange.co.uk on 31st October, 2018

With the first snow cover of Winter 2018/19 we are all super excited for the season to really kick off!

The hill team have been working hard over the season to get the snow fences ready for the upcoming Winter season. New fencing can be found down the Summit, Quad & Side Winder runs on the mountain.

Currently final maintenance is being taking out on the Braveheart chairlift including work on the engine. The engineering team plan to attach the chairs this week to Braveheart and also on the Great Glen chairlift. Once the chairs have been attached they will be tied down in strategic positions to make sure they can handle any storm which may come our way during the winter. The Chair on the Quad have already been loaded andare ready to go for the upcoming season!

As the annual Gondola maintenance period approaches the engineering team are getting ready for a busy month ahead of them. The main gear box is going away for a service which only happens every 15 – 16 years.

Once the Gondola maintenance is complete on the 15th of December the top station will be open again with hopefully enough snow to get our skis and boards out!
