Get ready for the thrill of a lifetime at MacAvalanche 2027! Join us for our epic bike season opener, hitting the slopes of Aonach Mòr on Saturday, March 20th, 2027!
Riders will hurtle through the snow, descending over 900m at a rapid rate! Picture over 200 riders starting above our top station, skilfully funnelling onto the top sections of the trails below the gondola. It’s a race for the fearless and definitely not one to be missed!
Spectators at the bottom station do not require a ticket. Visitors are welcome to purchase a gondola ticket to gain access to the mountain and watch the riders descend in true MacAvalanche fashion!

E-Bikes – Can E-bikes be entered? Yes
Event Bike Track: Blind Race Track to be revealed on the day at riders briefing
Start Location: TBC on the day
5:00pm – 8:00pm: Registration in the Bike Shop
7:00am – 8:30am: Registration in the Bike Shop
9:45am: Riders briefing for MacAvalanche under the Hub
10:00am – 12:00pm: MacAvalanche seeding stages.
12:00pm: Gondola uplift opens for MacAvalanche (If riders finish the seeding stage earlier, please head up to the Snowgoose Café.)
1:00pm: Briefing in the Snowgoose and then MacAvalanche riders to begin walking/pushing bikes up from the Café to the start line.
2:30pm: MacAvalanche mass start for mountain bikers / hardtail riders (NO E-bike riders in the first mass start)
2:45pm: MacAvalanche mass start for E-bikers
3:30pm – 4:30pm: Prize Giving

Bike Trail Access for the Event
Please be aware that due to the MacAvalanche event, there will be partial closures and diversions on some of our lower trails starting Friday afternoon and continuing throughout Saturday. Full access to all trails will resume on Sunday.
We appreciate your understanding as we facilitate this exciting event and invite you to enjoy the trails that remain open during these times.

Bike Uplift is included in the Entry Fee. Riders take the Gondola up to Top Station, then push bikes up to the start line.
🧥 Bring extra layers – It’s going to be cold up top! We’ll take all jackets and layers back to the base station after the mass start.
👷 Full face helmets are required for the mass start.
🚗 Parking is Free for Race Participants (Including Overnight), make sure you give our team your registration when you come to register.

Push up top the start will be from the Snowgoose Cafe.

🚗 Free parking is available for race participants on Friday and Saturday, including overnight parking on Friday night.

If you wish to stay overnight on Saturday night and beyond, the standard £15 overnight parking charge will apply.
