Aonach Mor is part of the mountain range that includes Ben Nevis and Carn Mor Dearg. The two main climbing areas on Aonach Mor are Coire an Lochain and the West Face. Given their altitude they offer some of the most amazing winter climbing in Scotland.
Note: Aonach Mor is also home to our Skiers and Snowboarders; please always walk to the side of ski runs and along fence lines in single file, never on tow tracks or fresh grooming.
The Climbers’ Gondola runs each morning the gondola is operational, departing promptly at 8 AM.
Please Note: We require climbers wanting access to the climbers gondola to be here sharp, as we only have a short window to get people up the gondola at this time.

In the event of high winds when the gondola is not running, you can reach the same elevation by following a 1.5-hour hike from the car park along the path beneath the gondola line.
The Quad chair to 870m also provides winter climbers with an uplift only service when the resort is open for Snowsports.

Once at the gondola top station you are in a high mountain environment with all the associated dangers including avalanche, cornice collapse, unstable snow, ice and rock. Do not snowhole beside fences as these areas are groomed daily, and the driver will not see you.
