Nevis Range Unveils Vision for Ambitious New Upper Mountain Jump line

Posted on 21st May, 2026
Today, we are revealing concept visuals for a proposed new upper mountain jump line as part of our wider long-term investment and adventure sports expansion plans.
The proposed line would create a new gravity-focused riding experience on the upper mountain, designed to blend flowing jump sections, berms, rollers and progression features into the natural terrain surrounding the Gondola Top Station.
Importantly, the vision is not to create a heavily manufactured bike park disconnected from the landscape of the Highlands.
Instead, the proposed line has been designed around the natural contours of the mountain itself, using the existing terrain to create flow, speed, technical progression and rider development while minimising environmental impact and unnecessary excavation.
For us, this project forms part of a much wider vision for the future of mountain biking at Nevis Range and our continued development as one of the UK’s leading lift-access riding destinations and year-round adventure tourism hubs. The goal is to create a trail experience that feels fast, wild and unmistakably Highland.
For more than two decades, mountain biking has been central to the identity and success of Nevis Range. From grassroots riding through to international downhill competition, the mountain has become one of the most recognised gravity riding destinations anywhere in the UK.
But the next generation of riders expects more than traditional downhill tracks alone.
They want progression.
Flow.
Sessionability.
Creative riding.
Social riding.
And experiences designed to keep people coming back to the mountain again and again.
That is exactly what this proposed jump line is intended to deliver.
Set against one of the UK’s most dramatic mountain landscapes, the proposed line is intended to feel fast, flowing and highly replayable — combining progression, airtime and creative riding with the scale and exposure of true upper mountain terrain.
The proposed route would incorporate:
1. multi-berm flow sections,
2. tabletops and step-ups,
3. optional gaps and advanced features,
4. progression-focused riding zones,
5. and natural rock and heather integration unique to the Scottish Highlands.
The wider vision is to create a trail experience that riders want to film, session, repeat and return to — helping strengthen Nevis Range’s position within the evolving culture of modern gravity riding.
Crucially, the project would also take advantage of Nevis Range’s existing uplift infrastructure, allowing riders to access the experience directly from the Gondola system and upper mountain trail network.
That combination of lift-access riding, upper mountain terrain and large-scale natural landscape remains one of the defining features of the Nevis Range riding experience and one of the mountain’s greatest long-term strengths within the UK gravity riding market.
The announcement follows recent confirmation that Nevis Range is currently in advanced discussions regarding significant international investment intended to support the long-term future of the mountain and wider tourism business.
That wider investment vision includes:
1. future uplift modernisation,
2. year-round tourism infrastructure,
3. snow sports adaptation,
4. and expanded mountain biking facilities.
This proposal also reflects our wider long-term direction towards sustainable year-round mountain tourism built around adventure sports, international visitation and lower environmental impact.
We believe modern adventure sports tourism is becoming one of the Highlands’ greatest international growth opportunities, particularly as younger riders increasingly seek destination riding experiences built around community, progression and unique natural terrain.
We are also seeing growing international demand for Highland tourism and adventure sports experiences, particularly from the GCC region, India and wider international travel trade markets following our expansion into Dubai and the Middle East tourism sector.
For us, this is about much more than simply building another trail.
It’s about continuing to evolve what mountain biking at Nevis Range can be.
The mountain has always had an incredible gravity identity, but riders now want experiences that combine progression, creativity, flow and replayability alongside traditional downhill riding.
We believe the Highlands are uniquely positioned to offer that.
One of the things we were determined to avoid was creating something that felt artificial or disconnected from the landscape around it. The goal is to build something that feels completely rooted in the mountain itself.
We also believe projects like this are incredibly important for the long-term sustainability of Highland tourism. Adventure sports are no longer seasonal niche activities — they are becoming a major driver of year-round international tourism.
The future of places like Nevis Range will be built around diversification, ambition and continuing to create experiences that people simply cannot find anywhere else.
