The future of Snowsports at Nevis Range

Posted on 17th April, 2026

Nevis Range has a long history of Snowsports, and this season has once again demonstrated that there remains a strong desire to ski and snowboard in Lochaber.

While recent winters have presented challenges, this year has shown that cold conditions and snowfall still return, and with them, the opportunity to operate and enjoy the mountain.

Looking ahead, our focus is on maintaining and strengthening what we have, while continuing to adapt to changing conditions. A key priority is the ongoing repair and maintenance of infrastructure following a number of severe storm events. This includes lift systems, buildings, fencing, and essential operational equipment.

Alongside this, we continue to invest in and maintain our fleet of machinery and uplift systems, ensuring they are ready to operate when conditions allow. Retaining a skilled and experienced team remains central to this, as it underpins both safety and the quality of the Snowsports experience.

We are also committed to strengthening our links with the local community. There is a clear appetite to support Snowsports at Nevis Range, and we will continue to explore ways in which volunteers and local engagement can play a positive role alongside our core team.

Throughout the season, we have worked closely with instructors and Snowsports users, providing access, facilities, and support wherever possible to help ensure that skiing and snowboarding at Nevis Range remains safe, accessible, and enjoyable.

The overall success of the business as a year-round resort is also an important part of the picture. A strong summer and wider operation enables continued investment in winter infrastructure and operations.

Snowsports at Nevis Range will always depend on the natural environment, but when conditions come together, it remains a unique and rewarding experience.

Skiing is part of the identity of this place, and we intend to keep it that way.
